My original plans were to stay for three months

Twenty one years on the rock! Will they ever let me off? Probably not, well at least not for good behaviour anyway.

Life in Gran Canaria can be summed up in one word... diverse. Here you never know what's coming next or who you're going to meet which is what makes it a fascinating place to live. My original plans were to stay for three months, but my watched stopped, I missed my flight and then I just had to go to the beach again and again. Well, amongst other things, that's my excuse anyway.

Writing the articles has been fun and made me take a new look at the place where I've lived for so long

Work has been varied. I've been known to do everything from being a dancing barmaid, no-not the topless kind, to a newspaper reporter, to ticket sales and tour guide, to what ever comes next.

Writing is a pastime that's taken over my life and there's a fledgling thriller, growing chapter by chapter, which uses the island, its varied scenery and the beaches as a background. Cross my fingers and hope you'll be reading it while you're laying there soaking up the sun one day soon.

Being asked to be the Inside Expert on Gran Canaria for grancanaria.co.uk was a nice surprise. Writing the articles has been fun and made me take a new look at the place where I've lived for so long. I hope you enjoy them, and who knows, maybe one day I'll see you in Puerto Rico. Don't forget to say hello!
